We know that transformations and renovations always carry a certain risk, from unexpected structural challenges to navigating neighbourhood sensitivities. That’s why we approach every project with care and logic: studying the surroundings, understanding the people, and uncovering the hidden potential of a place. This allows us to create designs that not only balance old and new, but also maximise value for clients, the neighbourhood, and residents.
Aanpak
We are guided by three core principles: effective, social, and being made for living. Alongside these principles, we also emphasise our commitment to sustainability.
We work effectively
From a social context
Context is our starting point: people, culture, and everything around them. We look at how a neighbourhood lives, what people connects, and what a place needs to bring them together. We design from the outside in, creating spaces that feel open and shared.
To create places that are made for living
We design by observing how people truly live; their routines, their rhythms, the way they move through a place. Our spaces grow out of those patterns. They shift as life shifts. Where it’s not about living well, but about living fully.
We give architecture a longer life
The average life cycle of a building is around 30 years. Our aim is to extend that lifespan. We do this by designing modularly, allowing homes to adapt to changing needs without requiring major interventions. In doing so, buildings gain a second life and often more.
Beyond lifespan, we also look critically at material use. We choose materials with the lowest possible ecological footprint: materials that emit less CO₂ during production and transport, and that can be reused at the end of their life. Think of biobased timber construction, reclaimed façade elements, or circular insulation materials. But it’s not only about the environment it’s also about health. Our materials are breathable, free from harmful substances, and contribute to a healthy indoor climate. This way, we create buildings that not only last longer, but are also better places to live, work and thrive.
